I am happy to give you an update on Pastor Ronald Kibumba of the Divine Cornerstone School and Busembatya Baptist Church.
The original charges of murder were downgraded to manslaughter and, I believe because of your prayers, the charges have been reduced to negligence. This means that Pastor Ronald will probably not have to serve any more jail time. I am also happy to say that God has calmed the hearts of those that were seeking revenge against Pastor Ronald.
The Word says that “the prayers of righteous people availeth much.” I cannot thank you enough for both your prayers and your gifts for Pastor Ronald’s defense. All money above the legal fees will be used for the burial expenses of those four young men.
Please remember Pastor Ronald on Friday as he will be reporting to the authorities.

An Urgent Prayer Request
I have just returned with a group of five from a mission trip to Uganda, East Africa. After much prayer I felt led to add to our feeding program the Divine Cornerstone School and Orphanage in the village of Busembatya. The school and orphanage is operated by Busembatya Baptist Church and Pastor Ronald Kibumba. I met this young pastor in 2008 and I was immediately taken by his kind and humble spirit. I knew then that Divine Cornerstone would be a part of the "Pennies for Posho" ministry.
On Wednesday, February 11, our mission team ministered to more than 200 orphans at the Divine Cornerstone School. We shared the Gospel, mended some of the rags the orphans called clothes, bought a good supply of food, and we spent time with Pastor Ronald. This young pastor was more than excited about what God was doing in his tiny village.
On Sunday, February 15, Pastor Ronald conducted a baptism service at the nearby Mugoya Lake. Ten new believers were baptized on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Four of those baptized were teenage boys who had been led to Christ by four BSU missionaries from Great Britain. Godfrey, Fred, Kenneth, and Moses presented a drama for us during our visit to Divine Cornerstone about the importance of African orphans getting a good education. These were four of those baptized by Pastor Ronald last Sunday.
After the baptism service ended, Pastor Ronald and the small crowd of worshippers started to leave the lakeside. On a whim, Godfrey, Fred, Kenneth, and Moses, decided to jump back into the lake. With their arms all locked together, and in celebration of their baptisms, the four boys made a big splash as they reentered the water. Then came the tragedy. None of the four boys could swim, and the place where they jumped was over their heads, and all four boys drowned as a small group watched helplessly. In two hours the tragedy was compounded as the Uganda Police ARRESTED PASTOR RONALD AND CHARGED HIM WITH MURDER! Pastor Ronald was not even at the lake when the drownings took place, but the police said it was all connected to the baptisms making Pastor Ronald responsible for these deaths.
Pastor Ronald Kibumba is now in jail awaiting what many fear will be a mockery of any kind of real justice. I know Pastor Ronald and I know his relatives. Ronald is a first cousin to Moses Kaziba who is the DOM for Eastern Uganda and is the right arm of "Pennies for Posho" in Africa. He is a faithful man of God that desperately needs the Body of Christ at this time. I must ask you to do three things:
1. Pray for Pastor Ronald Kibumba as he is awaiting trial. Pray for the people in his village whoare seeking now to kill him in revenge. Pray for his physical well being.
2. Send Pastor Ronald an e-mail of encouragement at this address and I will forward them to him.
3. Pastor Ronald has no resources at all. He lives in a small, rented room. Would you ask our Father to so bless "Pennies for Posho" that we will have the resources to pay for his defense.
I know this is what God would have us do.
